The Pasochoa Wildlife Refuge is located in the Mejía canton of the Pichincha province, 45 km southeast of Quito, near the town of Amaguaña, apart from its forest with a wide variety of birds, its main attraction is the Pasochoa Volcano With 4,200 m it is an ideal mountain for beginners who want to acclimatize, reaching the summit will only take a couple of hours.

Quito (2,800 m) – Summit of the Pasochoa Volcano (4,200 m) – Return to Quito

Detailed Itinerary

We will start our tour in Quito at 07:00 am our private car will take us to the base of this volcano, we will pass through a primary Andean forest where we will have the possibility of observing various types of birds such as the hummingbird and if luck is with us, the condor, arriving To the summit of Pasochoa, which measures 4,200 m, it will take 3 hours, with clear weather you will be able to see part of the crater, El Cotopaxi, Antisana, Ilinizas, descending will take us a little more than 1 hour and then in the afternoon we will return to Quito.
