Day 1: Quito (2,800 m) – Horseback riding in the Cotopaxi National Park (3,830) - Return to Quito
We will start our adventure in the city of Quito (07:00 am) we will drive south along the avenue of the volcanoes, then we will head east along a stone road and in 1.5 hours we will arrive at the north entrance of the “Cotopaxi National Park ”(3,600m) where our horses are waiting for us ready for the ride, from here we will continue the trip to visit the Ruins of the pre-Inca fortress the Pucará del Salitre that was built with the purpose of serving as surveillance observatories and forming part of a complex of defensive buildings, we will appreciate many volcanoes such as Cotopaxi, Rumiñahui, Sincholagua and if luck is with us we can see the “Condor” the largest flying bird in the world, then we will continue without first going through streams, lava paths and large stones from the last eruption of Cotopaxi that was in the year 1877. We will feel the incredible flora and fauna, we will rest to enjoy our lunch and later we will continue riding through the “Paramo” to finally reach our place where our private transport awaits us to return to Quito. Estimated time of the ride between 3-4 hours.
